The Lords series, by Phil Ecklund, provides a primarily economic representation of larger scoped (military & political) events.
This game is a Renaissance Europe themed version of that system, first portrayed in Lords of the Sierra Madre (also covered at 2d6.org).

This game fascinates me. I have a copy but it remains unplayed. I like the fact that it can accommodate something like 16 players at once.

I'm going to have to go through this vid series. Didn't even know you had a treatment for this one until I saw this here!

One of my favorite Ecklund designs. Never sure if I like AMF more.

You COULD even play with more people - but you would need more counters.
Same thing with LotSM actually.
