Title: Battles from the Age of Reason
Post by: sparty on July 09, 2014, 07:50:36 pm
Any tricks to learning this system or a concept that's easily summarized that should help in learning it?

I bought the three easily available in print games and the primer, but haven't decided to dive in just yet.

The Primer matches up well with sections of the rulebook. Read a few sections of the rulebook and then read the corresponding sections of the Primer. When you're ready to start pushing cardboard hit the first scenario from Prague. It's a straight up infantry assault (with a few arty pieces thrown in). You can even print out the small portion of the map from the BAR (https://sites.google.com/site/battlesfromtheageofreason/) site. The second scenario is all Cavalry and the third combines the first two scenarios.

Thanks for the encouragement!  I will definitely do it as you recommend and see what comes of it.
