Title: Karma

I like this option - and turned it on for that reason.

Pushing those little buttons can give a sense of release.

Don't take it seriously if you get one of these.

Speaking of which, I owe Peter one for making me correct something he did. :D

I want people to be free with positive AND negative thumbs. It's just another way of
expressing something. Sometimes, replying to a comment is just too much effort.

Thumbs down for all!

You should get a nice badge for it.

Ok cool. I see you changed it so that peeps can't thumb flood (when the site started one could). I was about to slam you with -37 thumbs.   ;D

Of course, I CAN put whatever amount I want in.  8)

I put the timer pretty low. It seems to amuse some people to do things like
that. I like amusing people.

Karma is pretty much open to any member to give you pluses and minuses.
There is a short delay (half hour) between how often someone can move
your rating. All values are part of your permanent record.

There are plenty of people here who don't even post. You may have
people who don't like you for some reason. **** happens.

I like the ability to + good posts and - idiocy (or worse whining). Some
people just get off on dumping crap on people. They'll probably get bored.

Other than adding to the +/- does the karma do anything?

Nope.

But there were concerns that some new users might not understand why they're getting negative reactions right off the bat.

There's a good chance it's just some chicken from BGG who doesn't like people here.

I've gotten rid of the positive/negative distinguishment.
You'll still know if folks are bashing you, but I like the
single number better.
