GMT's The Halls of Montezuma seems to get ripped apart too. I look at it every year during the GMT Fall Sale, but inevitably drop it for something else.
What say the people who have played it?
I think MMP's Guadalajara has been picked on too, mainly because it was missing a chart (for air points, if I recall correctly). I solo'd it once, and it seemed fun enough.

That seems shallow and elitist... to me anyway.
I certainly don't agree with this. There are TONS of games out there, and we have limited time. I can certainly understand if someone wished to play enough of something to get really good, with the hopes of making it "their" game for the rest of their lives. Let's be honest... there are some complex games out there that really do require an intellectual, economic, and temporal investment. So one with such an inclination would certainly be interested in choosing a game/system that is well supported, advertised for, and continues to attract some kind of fan base. Would anyone still be playing World in Flames, if it never evolved through rules updates and expansions? What if wifwendell had tacked himself onto SPI's old Cobra in the 80's? Would he still be playing it? And does cobrawindell have the same ring?

U-Boat Leader is pretty terrible.
I couldn't think of anything that I considered bad, because I typically research the heck out of stuff, so I usually know what I am getting. Gotta agree with you about U-Boat Leader though. I've been hooked on Hornet Leader, and pre-ordered UBL. I was very disappointed. So, +1.

And now I must contend, that M.L.C.W.B.'s are the ONLY way in which one can be sure of line-of-sight between units
you cant visualize line of sight. it must be portrayed with a string or thread stretched between the firing unit and the target
you just cant do that on a flat board its a process of 3D geometry which cannot be resolved using a two dimensional map
To the extent that the games I play require it... yes I can. And if we're going to obsess on LOS, then you'll need to integrate weather, ground foliage, and smoke to your map. Everything, EVERYTHING in a wargame is an abstracted reduction in complexity from The Real Thing. To say that "a process of 3D geometry... cannot be resolved using a two dimensional map" is just silly. Firing a bullet is a process of physics, and we resolve it just fine with dice.

I've pretty much stuck to Pro Cycling Manager on the PC for cycling. My computer game playing time is limited nowadays, but I've played more PCM the last few years than anything else. The newest 2014 version just came out a month or so ago, and is fun, but I've seen a few issues still... like the inability for AI teams to form sprint trains. I looked into Tour: Cycle Free, which is a print and play game a dude on BGG made. Might be fun if you're crafty. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/40601/tour-cycle-free

A neat thing in Out of the Park Baseball is random debut where you start in any year you want and every year it introduces players from every point in baseball's history. You can start with an inaugural draft too, so you can have Babe Ruth, Nolan Ryan, and Mike Trout on the same team going against Derek Jeter, Mickey Mantle, and Honus Wagner. It can be quite amusing.
This is indeed a great way to play. The game will automatically introduce expansion teams, league realignments, team moves and changes, financial changes, everything. I had a blast starting a league in 1901 once, I think I played until 1918 or something like that.

those are some interesting terrains I liked the city scape one with the paper skyscrapers did you make that? from scratch? anyway, I hope to prove that 3D boards made from layers of cardboard are superior to all other forms of wargame boards I will post more pictures of this board I am making as they become available
Really neat stuff, but you'll have to work pretty hard to prove them "superior to all other forms of wargame boards." 1. Storage. 2. Many people have no problem visualizing contours on maps, so actually having real contours adds no benefit. After all, I am perfectly fine with flat counters with numbers on them, in lieu of a bunch of little dudes.

I'm not playing too much computer stuff nowadays, but I do dabble occasionally. Its fun to get my kids hooked on the old classics.
I loved Civ I/II, Master of Orion I/II, Master of Magic back in the day.
I liked EUIII alot. I've played around with CKII.

Understand man, I'm not here for a brawl or starting s***. This is a game forum. I'm talking about asking about games, rules, recycling...lots of things. Not what has gone on over at the other place. That's for the birds. That is noise winning over the signal. I want to bring new people and have them talk to gamers of all types instead of being a bunch of misogynistic old c**** who want their world to be the only world and allow for no other. As I said the fresh air of freedom.
I agree with you in principle, but just keep in mind that the way you expressed this is completely illogical and filled with contradictions. You're all for "the fresh air of freedom," only after you complained about how other people do things. And in a single sentence you trashed the wants of others ("their world to be the only world") with a want of your own (by establishing what should be talked about: "have them talk to gamers of all types instead of being a bunch of misogynistic old c****"). I'm just sayin'.

I'd say his behavior was accurately characterized as reprehensible and disgusting...
Oh he has no class, I agree with that. I was just pointing out the ludicrousness of the media and various Offended Parties using extreme terms that left little room for truly disgusting things.
