I keep my hardcopy originals unmarked, but then will load a PDF of the same rulebook into my iPad via GoodReader or Documents and highlight mercilessly.

How do you define 'wargame'?

This is a great question though. I'd love to have more historical simulation-type boardgames that focussed on things other than military battles. Politics, economics, etc. Where are these games?
