In sheer casualties, it's maybe a third of the other loses suffered in
Eastern Ukraine. Such accidental targets seem fairly likely in a war zone.

How is this more poignant than violating national territory and annexing some of it?

Shouldn't more blame be leveled on the airline which chose to fly through such conditions?
Or to the organizations which okay such flight plans? I mean come on, it's like trying to cross
a highway blind, and then holding the drivers responsible.

This plane crash is a tool used to turn global views against Eastern thoughts.

Just because someone crosses the street against the light doesn't mean it's okay to run him over.  The plane shouldn't have been where it was, but if you're gonna shoot a missile, you ought to have some idea what you're shooting at.

And the civilians in the Ukraine? How about in Syria, Palestine, ect?

No, it's because they were Western Europeans and Americans. You know, actual people.

Presumably - but, it's not like the US hasn't done the same. And given a commendation to the people involved.  Undecided

No. The blame has been put squarely where it belongs. The neo Soviets.

This is what you get when you make deals with the US and we don't honor our commitments.

Everything that has happened from Crimea on is the result of not honoring agreements and I HIGHLY advise any country that has nukes not to give them up for any reason.

Or your guns.

And I am hard core left wing.

Pro Gun Pro Nuke and it should be a law that every citizen of the US should be armed and trained in the use of that firearm starting in grade school. And I'm not worried about the mentally ill having a gun because these days it seems they are the only ones who carry one. At least the rest of us can shoot back.

I firmly believe we should return Ukraine's nukes and make certain they are housed in some nice new shiny low flying cruise missiles.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

OK seriously, are you quoting this dude because you think he's funny, or makes good points? Step one for comedians of any belief: be funny.

And I cringe with the same atheist buzz-lines. C'mon wargamers, I don't care what you believe, we know our history better than this. The claim that "90% of wars were started by religion" is patently false.

Edit: missed a comma and it was bothering me.
