Been a while since we played, but I remember that moving quickly was kind of important. Even the beginning scenario doesn't give you a lot of time. The clock is your enemy, too.
Definitely read all the story text aloud. I think you can even pay a couple bucks to get professionally voiced MP3s of the intro story. (Erm, geez, just checked and they want $10 for the complete collection, but the money _is_ donated to charity.)

Learning this one while I'm home and my wife & son are away so we can play it upon their return from vacation! It has amazing reviews and my son devoured Wrath of Ashardalon so I fully expect this one to be a hit as well.
