I (and maybe many) am a creature of habits. They largely rule life. Wanted to just track and think about them a bit here, mainly for one thought which was on my mind.
I had been in the habit of sitting on my porch, drinking, and listening to music, whilst reading (usually rules). Recently though, since I'm out of work, I've been able to take time off around my swimming treks, and just started reading out near the pool. Significantly cut back on my drinking this way (not a concern - other than that it cost more than lemon water).
I have lost something in so doing though. The experience of getting a nice buzz on and listening to music is not the same as sitting at the pool. On the other hand, the pool provides a certain level of peace (in the morning) or people watching (later in the day) that I don't get from my porch, so I've gained something as well. Such trade offs come without conscious decision really, but they may sway a life a good deal in little ways.

Another one. Once upon a time, I had weekly (and opportunistic too) dancing excursions. The weekly stuff was de riguer though. Didn't have to think about it, but would still stress now and then.
Band I want to go see tonight though, and I don't know if I can. Stress levels are very high, and I'd guess I've got maybe a 30% chance of actually making it.

I have a habit of waking up, immediately grabbing my ipad, checking all my emails and then completely forgetting about them because I'm not really awake yet.

I'm sure I have some habits, but for the life of me can't think of any of them off the top of my head. I mean, I swear a lot, but that's more of a hobby than a habit.
