Let's leave site members out of this, but there are some people who have really done
a great deal for this hobby. We spend too much time bitching about things.

I want to make such a 'thank you' to John Kranz. Between running CSW (which must take an
obscene amount of effort) AND setting up CSWExpo, one wonders how the dude has any time
to game at all.

And he seems like a great all-round guy from my online interactions with him. Lots of positive energy.

He seems that way in person too. Though obviously harried by running the con.

John Kranz has done a lot of good for this hobby. He's so busy promoting gaming, I wonder if he gets a chance to play?

Michael Dorosh, for trying to bring professionalism to BGG. A voice of sanity in a childish world of incompetents!

And a paragon of modesty.

Seriously - you're a lot better here than your posts on BGG.

Oooh...I didn't realize the arrogant and insulting delusional egomaniac category actually was accepted.

Fixed that for you.  The comment on his home page here helped me greatly with the diagnosis.

Rodney Kinney for creating VASL which morphed into VASSAL though I realize he's not still intimately involved any longer he was the guy who got the ball rolling.  It saved ASL in my opinion and for many gamers is THE format of play for them.

VASSAL/PBEM is pretty much the only way I do non-solo wargaming these days. Essential resource.

The GMT Office Folk.

They're just so helpful. Thanks for working with me and my limited monetary supply when I forget to cancel my pre-orders.
