My buddy and I used to have The Clash - Combat Rock playing every Tuesday night during our ASL and Go sessions...

I don't mind some music prior to the game, but I'm not really a fan of mixing the two directly.

A highly underrated Clash album. My favourite along with 'Sandinista!' (also underrated).

I'm a massive Clash fan, but Combat Rock fell flat for me. Apart from Straight to Hell of course, which is magnificent.

Sandinista! though, is superb.

I find that there is a Morrissey album for every wargaming occasion.

I will also play post rock, shoegaze, black metal and psych-jangle.

Basically, when I'm gaming at my place, I play the kind of music I like :-)

At friends houses though, that's a different story. Some of the stuff one of my mates plays makes me want to drill out my ears.

That, and I have a HUUUGE soft spot for both 'Red Angel Dragnet' and 'Inoculated City'.

Yeah it's an album...
music from the era does it for me when it's anything pre-20th century. mostly instrumental or Choirs just to add some flavor.
when playing solitaire it's better than the TV that's also on in the room (my girlfriend watches TV and does facebooky things at the same time)
